Criticism of Love, Victor: exciting on many levels

Love, Victor premiered today on Hulu, directed by Jay Karas and Amy York Rubin and starring Michael Cimino, Anthony Turpel and Mason Gooding, among others.

Victor, a new Creekwood High School student in his self-discovery, coping with problems at home, adjusting to a new city and discovering his sexual orientation. When everything is getting hard for her, she reaches out to Simon to help him deal with the ups and downs of his life.

Love, Victor is the spin-off of With Love, Simon and follows the line of the film.

We meet ten chapters of one twenty-five minutes each. It is true that it is more timid than the original film. but it is logical, since we are dealing with a longer-lasting product. But Love, Victor it's intense, there are times when you will have a knot in the stomach, loaded with emotion and feelings on the surface. The series reflects very well the feelings of a teenager who discovers who he is and the fear he gives. On the other hand, we have parallel stories, like the love story of Felix or that of Victor's parents, but everything that encompasses the series is about love. Whether gay, straight or talk about pure love or infidelity.

Love, Victor is a simple series,

easy to digest and with a clear message. "We all deserve a great love story." Do not ask for more. Maybe it could be deeper or more visceral, but emotionally, I repeat, it is perfect. In fact, if the viewer is sensitive, like me, tears will fall at some point. The rhythm is unbalanced, with more slower chapters than others, but when everything comes together it's a festival of emotions. All of them well carried out. It also has with moments of humor they all work and help ease the tension of the plot.

The cast is fantastic,

Michael Cimino stands out as Victor, who is able to reflect everything a teenager would feel in their situation. An impeccable performance. Just like Anthony Turpel's, like Felix, the dear friend who is always there. Sparkly. We also have the appearance of Nick Robinson as Simon, apart from being Victor's adviser, he appears in one of the chapters giving another perspective to the series. Keiynan Lonsdale also appears as Bram (or Blue) helping Victor in New York. Two brief appearances, but very important to the plot and, as always, Nick and Keiynan are majestic.

Love, Victor follows the aesthetics of the film,

both the photography like montage and soundtrack. During the ten chapters they will accompany us pop songs of all colors, from BANNERS, to Jennifer Lopez. Helping to increase feelings at that time. Definitely is a great series with a great message so necessary today.
