Young actress Dafne Keen played Laura / X-23 in Logan, a clone of Wolverine who is not known if she will appear in new Marvel movies.
Since Disney's takeover of 20th Century Fox, fans of Marvel have been eager for the X Men become part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While the actual plans for the iconic superhero team remain unknown, they will surely reset them all. Except for several cases like Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool or Dafne Keen's X-23.
When Dafne Keen was asked if she would return as an X-23 to the Marvel movies, she replied:
"Yes, definitely. 100 percent."
Set in 2029, Logan saw a world in which the mutant population had declined significantly and the X-Men dissolved.
Wolverine, whose healing powers are failing, spends his days caring for an old Professor X (Patrick Stewart) until a woman asks him for help to bring a girl named Laura (Dafne Keen) to the Canadian border. As the story unfolds, it is revealed that Laura was created from Logan's DNA and is being pursued by Reavers villains for the corporation that created her.
Dafne Keen's portrayal of Laura in the film was critically acclaimed and during the Logan movie Quarantine Watch Party, director James Mangold and actor Hugh Jackman had nothing but praise for Dafne Keen.
"There is no way this movie will work without the remarkable Daphne Keen. In the second half of the movie, things have changed and she is loading the entire movie as Logan retires in sickness and doubt. Of course, she has the final shot, ”said James Mangold.
Jackman said he knew that Dafne Keen was perfect for Laura during auditions.
"When Mangold appeared with the character of Laura, and that the film was essentially about family, we were concerned with finding the right person. Until we met Dafne Keen. The first day we auditioned her… She punched me in the arm so hard it literally hurt me. The next day… Hired, ”said Jackman.
