Doctor Strange Director Campaigns Against Tenet

Today Tenet opens in theaters in some countries and Scott Derrickson, director of Doctor Strange, does not want people to go to see it.

Scott derrickson directed the first film of Doctor Strange (2016), but will not return to make the next sequel, Doctor Strange and the multiverse of madness (2022). Originally, it was supposed to Christopher Nolan's Tenet It will premiere on July 31, before being delayed until August 12 and will finally be able to be seen in some countries beginning on August 26 and September 3 in the United States. That is why there are people who are concerned that movie theaters will fill up with people and this will cause new outbreaks of the Coronavirus.

Scott Derrickson turned to Twitter to express your opinion, warning viewers not to watch Tenet or any other movie in a theater. He then specified in a follow-up tweet, saying that he is addressing his fellow Americans. His verbatim words were: “Don't go to see Tenet or any other movie in a theater. That's where I said it ”.

Scott Derrickson's comments are in stark contrast to the efforts of the director of Tenet, Christopher Nolan. For the past few months he has tried to ensure that Tenet debuts on time. In fact, it was revealed that Nolan was responsible for Tenet no longer being delayed beyond the summer, despite the coronavirus pandemic. Nolan even appealed to Congress to help theaters during closings, defending the "collective human commitment" that movie screenings offer after months of isolation that people have faced due to the virus.

The director of The New Mutants, Josh Boone, has also spoken about the reopening of theaters.

Boone stated that he believes people should go to the movies because it "brings people together." The director justified his opinion by stating: "I think that as long as they follow the rules that they are supposed to follow, it is safer than an airplane or a restaurant."

So it finally comes Tenet and the New Mutants (which also opens today in some countries) and we will have to wait for the reaction of the people. If they go en masse to the movies, if they wear a mask, if there are outbreaks or if it is as safe as being in a restaurant or on a plane.
