Apparently, a renowned actor is in negotiations to be part of the new Peter Pan live-action that Disney is preparing. If an agreement was reached, he would play the famous Captain Hook.
According to new information provided by Variety, Disney is working hard to get the Captain Hook of their dreams. The House of the Mouse is preparing a live-action about Peter Pan, which would add to the new successes of recent years: The Lion King, Aladdin, Dumbo and soon Mulan. If an agreement is reached, the actor who would be very close to playing this famous villain would be Jude Law.
David Lowery will be the director of this Peter Pan & Wendy, whose script he has co-written with his collaborator Toby Halbrooks. This new film, Peter Pan and Wendy, the protagonists of the famous story, will be played by the young Alexander Molony and Ever Anderson, the daughter of Milla Jovovich who we will also see in Black Widow, where she played the children's version of Scarlett Johansson. A few months ago a rumor claimed that Disney had offered the role of Hook to Joaquin Phoenix. But it seems that now the plans are different.
In principle ‘Peter Pan & Wendy’ is intended to be released in theaters, and not directly on Disney + as originally thought.
A new Hook on the way
This will not be the first live action version of Neverland, although it is the first time that Disney has attempted it. Before a possible Captain Hook held by Jude Law, we saw other actors bringing it to life on the big and small screen.
‘Hook (Captain Hook)’, directed by Steven Spielberg and in which Dustin Hoffman played the pirate and Robin Williams the “lost boy”, was produced by the Spielberg company Amblin Entertainment. In 2003 Sony produced ‘Peter Pan: The Great Adventure’, starring Jeremy Sumpter and with Jason Isaacs as Hook. Joe Wright most recently directed 'Pan (Neverland Journey)' for Warner Bros, with Garrett Hedlund as Young Hook. And on television, Colin O’ Donoghue played the Captain in Once Upon A Time, the hit ABC series that ended in 2018.
