Jake Gyllenhaal reunites with director Denis Villeneuve for a new movie

Actor Jake Gyllenhaal reveals that he is working on a new movie with Denis Villeneuve, with whom he coincided in Prisioneros and Enemy, both from 2013.

Jake gyllenhaal and Denis Villeneuve they have previously worked together on two films that were released consecutively in 2013. The first, Prisoners, the actor played a detective investigating the kidnapping of a child. The second, Enemy, was a neo-noir psychological thriller that finds the main character discovering his double.

In a recent interview with the cinematographer Roger deakins, the actor Jake gyllenhaal stated that “there is something we are working on now”, referring to him already Denis Villeneuve. While no information about the plot has been revealed, Villeneuve previously mentioned that he wants to return to a smaller film after Dune and his previous releases The arrival (2016) and Blade Runner 2049 (2017). Which means that after playing the villain Mysterio in Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), this would be a return to the most common cinema of Jake gyllenhaal.

A team that works well.

Jake gyllenhaal and Denis Villeneuve they already have a proven track record. Adding a third film to your creative partnership seems beneficial to your personal artistry and breadth of work. But also for the fans of the movies that they have been making while they were apart. It will be interesting to see the director reducing budgets for smaller films. Although they also have a new version of Cleopatra announced and to recreate it well, they will probably need a lot of money, so it will be a great production.

Meanwhile, the actor Jake gyllenhaal has many projects underway. Such as The Guilty, The Division, Rio, Finest Kind, The Anarchists vs ISIS and Lake Success. Also could come back as Mysterio in a future Spider-Man movie since no one claims his death was defining. So I could keep tormenting Peter Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
