Marvel Studios is reportedly developing an Illuminati project based on the Brian Michael Bendis comic.
The writer of the Avengers, Brian Michael Bendis, introduced the Illuminati He even gave the team his own series, and a new report now claims that Marvel Studios is in the early stages of taking them to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The Marvel Comics version of the Illuminati consisted of heroes like Iron Man, Professor X, Namor, Black Lightning, Doctor Strange and Mr. Fantastic Uniting to make important decisions that affected the entire Earth. Not only were they responsible for sending the Hulk into outer space, which eventually sparked the World War Hulk, but they also interfered in a series of major events.
Simply put, they pulled the strings in the Marvel Universe, and sometimes even though they had good intentions they made evil decisions. In addition a group of villains arose who imitated them calling themselves Exact composed of characters as well known as Norman Osborn, Doctor Doom or Loki.
It will have to be a very free adaptation of the history of comics.
For starters, it's impossible to bring together the original members of the Illuminati from the Marvel comics. As Hombre de Hierro died in Avengers: Endgame, he Professor X of the X-Men, Black Ray of the Inhumans, Namor of Atlantis and Reed richards of the Fantastic Four have yet to be added to the Marvel movies, so they could only create the Illuminati with Doctor strange and Black panther. Something that remains quite scarce.
Even so, the sources assure that the project is in an early phase, which could mean that the next films that will be released will be oriented towards the Illuminati, although that is too soon to confirm it.
Hopefully Marvel goes ahead with this idea, because it would be great to be able to see this in theaters.
