No Time to Die Officially Introduces the First Woman 007

No Time to Die presents a new trailer and officially Daniel Craig's replacement as agent 007 of the franchise

As many of you already know, No Time to Die is the last installment of Daniel Craig as MI6 agent 007, and much has been said about who could be his successor or successor for future films in the franchise and it seems that the new trailer of the movie answers the question. At one point in the trailer, Bond says "I've met your new 007" referring to Nomi, a character played by Lashana Lynch (Maria Rambeau in Captain Marvel). Also, unlike the first official trailer, this character has many more scenes and more prominence than it initially seemed, so everything indicates that he will be a very important character throughout the plot of this new installment.

The trailer confirms the information that appeared in July of last year and that was not denied by the producer, although there has not been any official announcement about it so far, which makes Lashana the first woman to give life to the mythical character created by Ian Fleming .

His character is the product of the "realistic" rewriting of the script

Actress and screenwriter Phoebe Waller-Bridge, responsible for Fleabag or Killing Eve, joined the Bond 25 team in April 2019 to rewrite the film's script at the request of Daniel Craig himself. As the British confessed, her objective was to make the female characters in the film "look like real people", thus ending the historical reification to which they have been subjected. Waller-Bridge will become the second screenwriter in franchise history and says the former 007 doesn't have to change his questionable behavior with the opposite sex at all: “There's been a lot of talk about whether or not (the Bond franchise) it's relevant now because of who he is and the way he treats women. I think that's nonsense. I think it is absolutely relevant now. It just has to grow. It just has to evolve, and the important thing is that the film treats women properly. He doesn't have to. It has to be true to its character. I just want to make sure that when they get to those pages, Lashana, Léa and Ana open them up and say, 'I can't wait to do this.' As an actress, I rarely had that feeling early in my career. That gives me great pleasure, knowing that I give it to an actress ”.
