Review of Where are you, Bernadette: confused comedy

Where are you, Bernadette will premiere on Friday the Spanish card, directed by Richard Linklater and starring Cate Blanchett.

Bernadette Fox is a Seattle woman who has it all: a loving husband and a brilliant daughter. When she disappears without a trace unexpectedly, her family embarks on an exciting adventure to solve the mystery of where Bernadette may have gone.

Where are you, Bernadette is a confusing comedy,

where Linklater's marked style is lost in this erratic comedy. Linklater's works are entertaining and easy to digest, yes it is true that this film is entertaining at times, although most of it is infumable, therefore, It's hard to believe that the director was Richard Linklater himself. Reminds me of premade movies of superhero universes, one of those movies directed on request, soulless, sparkless. It's an entertaining movie at times, like I said, but uninteresting and that it does not contribute anything; it is mere consumerism, but of poor quality.

Where are you Bernadette is a comedy,

but it is so white and light that it doesn't even look like a comedy and the dramatic moments are simple and flat like a page. Blanchett's interpretation is weak at best, according to the low level of the film. I mean, she holds a project that is constantly reeling, but even with those it is out of shape. The tape is riddled with situations that they get out of the context of the story, meaningless, which makes the film don't finish connecting with the viewer. The problem is that it is not a drama or a comedy or a disappearance or anything, it is a mess without much sense.

In short, it is a humble production and a poor adaptation of the original material.
