The Boys actor joins Scream 5

They are developing the movie Scream 5 and a very fashionable new actor by The Boys signs for the new installment of the horror saga.

Until recently, only the stars David arquette and Courteney cox had signed up to appear in the next reboot of Spyglass and Paramount Pictures from the horror franchise, but the last few weeks have seen additional casting announcements, such as the newcomers Melissa barrera and Jenna ortega. Now, it is confirmed that the star of The Boys, Jack Quaid, was hired for an undisclosed role in Scream 5.

The timing of this announcement is very well chosen, since Jack Quaid it's pretty much everywhere right now. Son of Dennis Quaid and Meg ryan, you can currently hear him as Ensign Brad Boimler's voice on Star Trek: Lower Decks from CBS All Access. He will also reprise his lead role as vigilante Hughie Campbell in season 2 of The Boys, which is already on Amazon Prime.

What will the movie be about?

At the moment there are few details of the plot of Scream 5, but we know that it is directed by the duo Ready or Not Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. Plus Sheriff Dewey Riley and Gale Weathers are back. The couple were last seen married and living in Woodsboro in Scream 4. But that doesn't necessarily mean this movie is set in the classic franchise setting or that the couple are still together.

Of course, there are some other stars that fans are looking forward to returning to Scream 5 like Kirby from Hayden panettiere. Since after Scream 4 left his death open. But even more important, Neve campbell should come back as Sidney Prescott. She was in talks to participate earlier this year, but they are clearly still ongoing, because it has yet to be confirmed.

Scheduled to shoot later this year in North Carolina, Scream 5 will premiere in January 2022.
