Yesterday the first trailer for Dune, the new version directed by Denis Villeneuve, was finally released. Now a video has come out that compares this film with the one made by David Lynch.
On December 18 we will travel to Arrakis with Dune, the new film directed by Denis Villeneuve. However, this will not be the first time we have explored the universe created by Frank Herbert. In 1984, a first attempt to adapt the cult novel hit theaters, directed by none other than David Lynch.
The David Lynch movie featured Kyle MacLachlan as Paul Atreides. Despite the project's ambition, it ended up being a critical and box office failure. It only raised $ 30.92 million with a budget of $ 40 million. However, its visual section did leave images to remember. How to have inspired Denis Villeneuve? IMDB has made a comparison of the recently released trailer of the new version with images of David Lynch's Dune. They look alike?

The remake of Dune will feature a cast led by Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides. For the trailer we can also see Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Jason Momoa, Dave Bautista, Charlotte Rampling, Stellan Skarsgård and Javier Bardem. On the other hand, we must highlight that Hans Zimmer is in charge of the soundtrack and in the trailer we already heard a version of 'Eclipse' by Pink Floyd made by him.
An adaptation that promises
At the moment the exact budget of Dune has not been revealed, but without a doubt we are facing a blockbuster with much more money behind that of David Lynch. Has Denis Villeneuve managed to do justice to the novel? This great answer, we will finally discover it from December 18 in theaters.
